Parks
Joel Stone Park and Splash Pad – Down at the waterfront of Gananoque is Joel Stone Park. Perfect for a picnic day in the grass or cooling off at the beach! You’ll also find the playground and splash pad just beside the beach for some extra fun.
Town Park – Just next to the town hall is the Town Park. Here you’ll find the biggest public playground in town! Host to our weekly Farmer’s and Craft Markets, the park provides fun for more than just the kids.
Confederation and Sculpture Park – Beside the Visitor Centre is Confederation Park. Take a walk through and you’ll find many locally made sculptures. Check around the pond to see how many different types of wildlife you can spot!
Hiking
The 1000 Islands is full of hiking trails showcasing the nature and beauty of the area. In Gananoque, we have 3 different trails ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Out along the 1000 Islands Parkway you will find the many National Park trails including Landon’s Bay, Mallorytown Landing, and Jones Creek. Stop by the Visitor Centre for some maps and more information!
Live Music
Music fills the air in Gananoque during the summertime. Joel Stone Park holds free waterfront concerts every Friday and Saturday evening. Perfect for some quality family time! Keep an eye out at the restaurants in town – many of them host live music weekly.

Museums
History Museum – Learn about the history of Gananoque and the 1000 Islands at the local History Museum down at the waterfront. You'll find interactive exhibits the kids can enjoy and plenty of learning opportunities!
Boat Museum – Explore some antique wooden boats at the Boat Museum! Check out their Boatbuilding Shop, Children's Activity Center, and Exhibit Galleries.

Cycling
Along the 1000 Islands Parkway is our waterfront trail! Running 37km along the St. Lawrence River, it makes for a wonderful way to see the islands from land. There are many places to make a stop along the way for a break in case anyone is in need of a rest. Bike rentals are available through Tootle.
