The 6th Annual Edition of the First Peoples' Performing Arts Festival of the Thousand Islands has adopted the theme "WE'RE STILL HERE". The First Peoples of Turtle Island are very much still here; relevant as First Nations that are culturally vibrant. And we can hear this slogan cried out by the lost, murdered and abused children of the Canadian Residential School System; we can hear it in the voices of the missing and murdered Aboriginal women; and also in the voices of the neglected, the forgotten, the incarcerated, the culturally othered... We're still here! And so attention must be paid; respect needs to be given; acknowledgements are to be made; restitution is to be discussed; and reconciliation with the Settler Community is to be hoped for.
Award-Winning Musical Duo "TWIN FLAMES" are headlining this beautiful weekend of events that is being planned, full of Ceremony, Entertainment, Education, and Art celebrating the continually-evolving and also the traditional culture of Indigenous Performance.

Events will be taking place at the Royal Theatre Thousand Islands, 75 King Street, East in Gananoque, Ontario. The Festival is brought to you by the First Peoples Circle of the Thousand Islands.
ALL EVENTS ARE FREE OF CHARGE
